We rely on the support of gracious volunteers to help us serve the men, women and children of the Dallas community. Without your support and continued service to the Mission, we wouldn’t be able to offer the expanded services that allow our brothers and sisters to recover and experience our Father’s unconditional love.
Volunteers are a critical component in UGM being able to adequately minister to as many men, women and children as we do. Volunteers serve many of the meals prepared for our clients and disciples. Also, the Mission’s special events utilize many volunteers (Games Day, UGM Golf Classic and the Praise Banquet).
Volunteers provide many of the chapel services and Bible studies that go on at all three of our main shelters (UGM Calvert Place, UGM Center of Hope, UGM River Pointe).
UGM has a strong interest in having volunteers “mentor” our men and women disciples. Mentoring for us means counseling those in the later phases of the Discipleship Program as to what to expect when they integrate back into society and how to handle it. This could involve job search, finding a church home, transportation, setting up a bank account, dealing with legal issues not resolved prior to entering the Discipleship Program.
