We rely on the support of gracious volunteers to help us serve the men, women and children of the Dallas community. Without your support and continued service to the Mission, we wouldn’t be able to offer the expanded services that allow our brothers and sisters to recover and experience our Father’s unconditional love.
April 17, 2018 – Union Gospel Mission (UGM) Dallas announced Christina Taylor as UGM Dallas Volunteer of the Month for April. Christina serves at the Center of Hope in the Children’s Chapel, the dining hall, the front office or wherever she may be needed.
“We like to take each month and recognize our volunteers for the work they are doing. They give of their time and talents and without them, our organization would not be what it is today ,” stated Bruce Butler, CEO of Union Gospel Mission Dallas. “Union Gospel Mission Dallas is a great place to serve if you feel the Lord has given you the desire to reach out and help the homeless. Combining our talents, we are able to help those who have fallen on hard times to receive hope and the resources to get back on their feet.”
Christina Taylor is a beautiful example of so many of the UGM Dallas volunteers. She is faithful and reliable in her service, a great communicator, and goes above and beyond to serve others. As a token of appreciations, she was given a $50 gift card to Asian Mint. Asian Mint will be opening their newest restaurant concept, EnjoyMint, in May.
Volunteers are a critical component in UGM being able to adequately minister to as many men, women and children as we do. Volunteers serve many of the meals prepared for our clients and disciples. Also, the Mission’s special events utilize many volunteers (Games Day, UGM Golf Classic and the Praise Banquet).
Volunteers provide many of the chapel services and Bible studies that go on at all three of our main shelters (UGM Calvert Place, UGM Center of Hope, UGM River Pointe).
