About Us
It's always been about changing lives. The Union Gospel Mission has been reaching out to the last, least, lost and lonely of Dallas for 60 years. Folks come to the mission, "tore up, busted and disgusted," to quote one of our clients. What they find is worth more than gold. UGM offers all a chance to put their lives back together, anchored by a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
The Calvert Place Men's Shelter, located near Love Field, became a reality in 1995, with a capacity for 330 men who eat, shower, sleep and worship here on a regular basis. A two-year rehabilitation program is made available to all.
The Center of Hope Women and Children's Shelter, located in the Parkland Hospital Medical District, was opened in 2002 with a capacity for 235 women and children. Emergency shelter is available for a minimum of 90 days. A two-year rehabilitation program is made available to all.
